As Oregon’s oldest
estate winery and the birthplace of Oregon Pinot Noir, HillCrest Vineyards have
shared in the creation of “Oregon Wine”. Founded by the “Father of Oregon
Wine”, Richard Sommer, it continues to innovate and lead the way into the next
generation. HillCrest was recognized internationally in 2014 for being the only winery in the US, and one of only 15
worldwide to be honored as global innovators at the 900 year celebration of the
world’s oldest winery, Stift Klosterneuberg in Vienna, Austria. HillCrest was
honored along with such wineries as Baron Ricasoli of Tuscany, the creator of
Chianti and Schloss Johannisberg, the site and birthplace of German Riesling.
