Exploring Roseburg Oregon: Hike: South Slough

SE Fowler Street - Roseburg
Details: Technically, we are hiking at
the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve. We'll just go with
South Slough, which despite its unwieldy name has a superb trail system
wandering through lush coastal woods to scenic slough overlooks.
Routes: There are several possible routes, all
of which basically begin at the visitor center and wander down to the slough's
edge and back up again!

Difficulty: Moderate
Distance: Roughly 4 miles
Lush green forest and expansive views of the
slough scenery.
On the day of the hike: Meet at 8 am in
the Douglas County Courthouse parking lot off Fowler St., right behind the
library building. Bring water, lunch, and appropriate clothing for hiking.
We will follow current official Oregon Covid-19
guidelines, whatever they may be at the time.
Please do not attend if you feel sick, are
coughing, or have a fever.
The club hikes every other Saturday, rain, or
shine. Hiking is free, everybody is welcome.
